knitwear & upcycled plastic bags
Trained as an Architect, Kelly Ordemann’s passion for sustainability within design, and interest in finding new uses for everyday objects, led to the creation of her upcycled plastic bags. These are made from everyday plastic shopping bags that end up in the rubbish heap, blowing down the street, and polluting our oceans. Re-using these single use plastics is one small step in helping to reduce the amount of waste we throw at mother nature by transforming it into something desirable.
As well as upcycling, Kelly also designs knitwear. For #COA2019 she will be teaming up with Ginger Twist Studio to release a new design inspired by the Edinburgh Colonies. There will be a small number of the items available for sale on the day, with the option to commission a piece once they’re gone. The pattern and yarn will also be available for knitting your own. Follow Kelly on Instagram to get a sneak peak at the final design.
