Kate Bell

Film, Creature Armatures, Oil on Board

A Scottish artist who works with the beautiful uncanny continues to create this truly unique, alluring and exquisite world.

“At Les Vignettes, the creatures and I are enamoured with the beautiful uncanny.  We love all things secret, magical and extraordinary - with a hint of macabre, combined with a touch of elegant beauty…  Storytelling, imagination, film are our forte and all are used to tell the story through the creatures and work that you see here today - Les Vignettes”.

With a variety of offerings to choose from, there is a little piece of Les Vignettes for everyone.  Take a wander through the story. It is time to share it.

Exhibiting this year are the latest animation works, original creature armatures, resined mushrooms, butterflies and moths in silver spoons and oil on board paintings: all inspired and produced in the creation of Les Vignettes by artist Kate Bell.

Shonagh Gibson

Etchings produced on zinc and copper plates

Shonagh is from Edinburgh and studied at Gray’s School of Art. It was during her time in Hanover, Germany on an Erasmus exchange program where she discovered etching as a rewarding intaglio printing process. This year she rediscovered this method of printmaking and these works explore the use of soft and hard ground techniques as well as applying tone with aquatint.
