Watch The Singing Street (1951, 15min) the most well known of 4 films made by teachers from Norton Park School in Abbeyhill under the name of "Norton Park Productions". The film depicts pupils playing street games, accompanied by traditional children's songs, at various locations in the city. See also the related playtime project by the artists-in-residence at Abbeyhill Primary School.

The other 3 films in the series are Happy Weekend (1951), The Grey Metropolis: A beautifully shot film showing the city through the thoughts of R.L. Stevenson. (1952) and The Flower and the Straw: Based on Dickens' "Sketches by Boz". (1955).
